2012 Nissan Versa Sedan

2011 BMW Nazca C2

Dutch designer, Sabino Leerentveld, certainly deserves as much with his design study of a BMW concept that first made headway back in the early 90’s. A lot of us are familiar with ItalDesign’s BMW Nazca C2 concept that made an appearance at the 1992 Tokyo Motor Show. That particular concept came with an Alpina-tuned 5.0-liter V12 engine that produced 350 horsepower at about 350 lb/ft of torque. Back in the early 90’s the original C2 concept could sprint from 0-60 mph time in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 203 mph.

2012 Honda City facelift

We were the first Indian website to report about the soon-to-be-launched 2012 Honda City facelift, way back in May. Once the Thailand market received the new Honda City in September 2011, it was reported that the Indian market would get the new City in November 2011. Then there was another speculation that the updated City would come to India in January 2012, after a formal unveiling at the 2012 Auto Expo show in New Delhi. The delay was accredited to the shortage of components which Honda procures from Thailand, which was hampered because of the floods which disrupted production. However, the Japanese automaker has now advanced the launch of the Honda City facelift to mid-December.

 

Nissan Juke, a new model for 2011

 The Nissan Juke, a new model for 2011, has front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive. The two drivetrains get different fuel tanks, but Nissan accidentally misrepresented the specifications to early Juke buyers. Some shoppers bought AWD Jukes thinking they got the same 13.2 gallon tank the front-wheel drive Juke has. The AWD tanks are 1.4 gallons smaller.

Honda Civic (2012)

This might explain why the 2012 Civic looks very similar to the 2006 version. Honda says it’s more a case of evolution instead of revolution, and this is clear throughout the entirety of the styling, both inside and out.

The Civic continues to be a good option if you’re shopping for practicality. The boot, at 477 litres with the rear seats up and 1,378 litres with the seats down, is still class-leading in this sector. And Honda has also retained the Magic Seat system, which allows you to not only fold the second row flat, but also lift the seat bases vertically so you can stand taller objects behind the front seats.

Shelby GT500

Engine Overhaul

While punching out the 5.4-liter aluminum-block V-8 out to 5.8 liters, the GT500’s powertrain crew also updated the heads for better cooling, changed the camshaft profiles, added piston squirters and higher-flow fuel injectors, swapped the old supercharger for a larger and more efficient TVS unit that ups boost from 9 to 15 psi, and fitted a larger intercooler. The result is an extra 100 hp and 90 lb-ft compared to the 2012 model. The cooling system was upgraded to dissipate the excess heat, and a carbon-fiber driveshaft, upgraded clutch, strengthened transmission (with revised gearing), and sturdier rear axle were deemed necessary to cope with the extra grunt. To help the driver cope, the GT500 is equipped with an adjustable launch-control function.

For Corners, Too

With 650 hp, no bend in the road will be far away. To address those curves, the new GT500 gets optional electronically-adjustable Bilstein shocks. Part of the Performance package—which also includes a Torsen limited-slip diff and Recaro seats—the Bilstein dampers offer drivers a choice of Normal and Sport modes. If you intend to unleash your Shelby on a closed course, you might want to opt for the Track package, too. It adds supplementary coolers for the engine oil, differential, and transmission.

Mustang GT customers have the option of a new Track package. Available on manual GTs with the 3.73:1 rear axle, it includes an oil cooler, the upgraded radiator from the Boss 302, high-performance brake pads, and the same Torsen rear differential as is available on the Boss. It also includes the contents of the current model's Brembo Brake package that brings 14-inch front rotors, 19-inch wheels, and summer tires. (The Brembo package is available as a standalone option on 2013 GTs as well.)
